QHSE Manager for COMET in Denmark – Contribute to sustainable ingredient production

The first in the world

In 2021, COMET partnered with the Danish company, Meliora Bio, in Kalundborg to expand their existing plant using COMET’S patented upcycling technology. The dedicated manufacturing facility is the first of its kind, converting agricultural residues into high-quality, sustainable ingredients.

It will supply over 4 million kilograms of COMET’s ARRABINA annually.

Meliora Bio will operate the facility, but COMET needs a local QHSE Manager to ensure that the product meets food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

The position will be on-site in Kalundborg.

Responsibilities

The QHSE Manager is responsible for implementing and administering the HACCP and quality plan for the dietary fiber, which is produced in Denmark and then distributed in the United States.

Other responsibilities include participating in second- and third-party audits, keeping the North American COMET offices informed on all aspects of QHSE and reviewing and updating the programs on a yearly basis.

Maintenance of HACCP plans and documentation:

Create, maintain and update internal pre-requisite Programs, HACCP Plans and SOP’s within the supply chain and onsite.
Review deviation reports and follow-up on deviations for any non-compliance situations
Reassess and validate the internal and Co-manufacturer HACCP plan, minimum once a year or as required

Maintain regulatory cGMP:

Compliance with FDA and EFSA requirements
Taking effective corrective action when there is any non-compliance situation.
Ensure employees are properly trained and following FDA requirements

Monitoring and verification:

Ensure OPRP and prerequisite elements are monitored and documented
Ensure processes and the environment are monitored to meet GMP
Review, analyze and follow up on lab results

Professional qualifications

Skilled technical professional with a degree in Food Science or related discipline preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in food manufacturing
HACCP, ISO 22000 or other GFSI experience and training

Personal qualifications

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Create structure in your area of responsibility
Thrive in a dynamic small organisation, where you have the freedom to act, but you do your own groundwork.
